Thai Street Food Restaurant Opening Soon at Fargo’s West Acres Mall – InForum

FARGO – West Acres adds spice to its food court.

Thai street food

is tentatively set to open on January 17, according to Sid Khan, who co-owns the restaurant with his wife, Marie.

“We wanted something new in the food court,” Khan said on Thursday, Jan. 6. “There is no Thai food at all in the mall.”

Khan said his family started operating Thai restaurants in the Fargo-Moorhead area in 2004.

Khan and his wife have over 10 years of hotel, resort and restaurant experience in Fargo and Thailand. He said the restaurant was not part of a chain.

“The food is fresh. Everything is fresh – nothing frozen,” Khan said.

“We are specialists in Thai food. At Thai Street Food, we sell Thai curry and rice and Thai stir-fried noodle dishes. We only prepare a few classic Thai street food dishes and we make them very well,” he said.

Signature dishes include Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and Kow Mok Gai Tod (Thai biryani curry rice and fried chicken). Most of the menu is vegetarian and vegan, he said.

The mall announced the restaurant’s arrival on its Facebook page shortly after the start of the new year.

“Thai food lovers, get your taste buds ready! We are excited to welcome a brand new restaurant, Thai Street Food, to our food court! the January 3 Facebook post read, adding, “…our bellies are so, so ready for opening day.”

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Sid, Marie and their team to the West Acres family!” says the mall’s Facebook post.

Thai Street Food will be located between Dairy Queen Grill & Chill and Qdoba Mexican Food.

The Ginza Ramen & Poke Bowl restaurant, run by a different group of owners, opened in the food court in June 2021, slipping into the spot once occupied by Ice Point, a Thai ice cream parlour.
