Savor Indian and Asian dishes around an elaborate buffet at Kafe 24 on ECR

Channa Ki Seekh Plate

Long journeys require delicious restaurant stops. And our experience of dining at Regenta Central-RS on OMR recently, ticked all of our boxes. Besides an elaborate buffet, its Kafe 24 restaurant is, as its name suggests, open 24/7. Definitely a bonus for people who stop for a quick bite on the go or before a movie at the Marina Mall next door. No more hot sips of comfort Tom yum Chicken soup, we settle in for a casual lunch.

Executive Chef Prakash Krishnamoorthy gives us a quick tour of the live stations on offer – including dosa, pizza, pasta and to chatter. However, we find ourselves lingering in front of not one, but two chocolate fountains (milk chocolate and white chocolate) and end up dipping our cake slices in them for a quick tasting, well before our first appetizer! Trays Teriyaki The chicken speckled with sesame seeds and the olive eggs with sunny yellow curry arrive at our table and are quickly devoured, before moving on to the Channa Ki Seekh It’s nice. But not as enticing as the promise of a steaming vat of Murgh dum Chicken Biryani waving amid a swarming queue of families, children and office workers. Our common priorities are well placed.

The rice is fragrant and the meat is cooked slowly and tender. And we really want to go for a recharge. But first, vegetarian Kashmir Kofta Curry (rich in cashew nut paste) accompanied by Jeera pulao then a quick sample of the Chinese section with cashew corn noodles and sautéed broccoli. At this point, we hope to still have room for dessert. But a glance at what awaits us and our doubts are quickly dispelled. Hot Gulab Jamuns with fresh vanilla scoops, bowls of Pal Adai Payasam and later, the delicate notes of Caramel Custard … and our dessert route has only just begun.
