Potter Village gets new Asian buffet that merges Asian and American cuisine
Potter Village will soon carry the scents of a fusion of Japanese, Chinese and American cuisine with the return of a buffet.
Asian Buffet, 1114 Oak Harbor Road, will take over the former Wang’s and Xian’s Buffet shopping complex, with the ambitious goal of offering all types of food as well as healthy buffet options.
Manager Tyler Liu brings the Tiffin Restaurant buffet concept to Fremont after Fremont residents visit his Asian Grill Buffet restaurant.
The new Asian buffet at Fremont will open on October 14.
A strong buffet of 200 pieces
“We’re going to try new things, we’re going to try different things,” Liu said. “We can hold over 200 items (on the buffet).”
The menu will include stir-fries, teriyaki chicken, and other protein and veg, as well as a healthier option with an on-site hibachi grill that will limit options on the oil used to prepare the protein and vegetables.
Liu said the hibachi grill is a popular grill staple in Tiffin and was a must for Fremont and will be included in the cost of the buffet.
Liu said he has been preparing the new restaurant since about June, when the lease was signed, to prepare for an October opening.
He said the restaurant will employ seven to twelve people once it is operational.
The buffet will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
