Lake County Resident Fulfills Dream of Opening Soul Food Restaurant
Since the age of 11, Raheem Warren had aimed to open his own restaurant before the age of 30. Just two months before his 30th birthday, Warren opened the Divine Soul Food Experience in Leesburg, making his childhood dream come true.
“Divine Soul Food Experience is a homemade southern tradition that came from my grandmother,” said Warren. “These are his recipes. She taught us how to cook and make sure everyone has a good time while they eat. This is why we use the word experience because we want everyone to feel good while they have dinner.

For Warren, soul food is not only about the dishes served, but also the way they are cooked, which is summed up in their motto: “A taste of soul that will make you finish the bowl”.
“It comes down to love,” Warren said. “We show love no matter what you’re going through. Come live the love. I believe that what makes soul food soul food gets dirty. When you have flour on you in the kitchen, listen to music, and cook with love. This is the key, all in love.
