Derry Restaurant Wins Global Food Restaurant of the Year

The Quay West Restaurant also won Ulster Seafood Restaurant of the Year. Over 140 awards were presented during the evening, with regional winners selected in each category as well as an overall winner for each award.

Shane Smith, Managing Director of NI Media, said, “We’ve been waiting for this night for a long time, there was an atmosphere of jubilation in the room and it’s wonderful to see an industry that has been decimated, rebound so quickly. People in the hospitality industry proved to be innovative, resilient and creative and the passion they have for what they do shone through tonight.

“We would like to thank the student chefs and their mentor for creating fantastic dishes. Chris McMenamin and Chloe Duggan, winners of our latest awards, have pulled out all the stops to deliver amazing courses with the support of their teams. Jack Duffy – YesChef and Paddy Anslow, Executive Chef of Limerick Strand for all their help and support.

“A big thank you also to our dinner sponsors who make such a difference in the quality of our menu – Dingle Gin, Traditional Cheese Company, Causeway Prime, Crossogue Preserves, Keenan Seafood, Andarl Farm, Bluebell Falls Goat’s Cheese and Lindt Chocolate.”
