Ashok’s new millet-based breakfast buffet is a must-try
Millet is recognized not only as an alternative to wheat, but also as a superfood in its own right. Besides being gluten-free, the humble grain has a plethora of health benefits to offer those who consume it. It is cheap, readily available and rich in essential fiber and vitamins. It is no surprise when 2022-23 was declared the International Year of Millet in the Union budget. Hotels and restaurants are also following suit by adding some interesting millet-based items to their menu. The Ashok Hotel, for example, has launched a new millet-based breakfast menu that you must try.

In addition to their usual buffet, Coffee Shop at Hotel Ashok, Chanakyapuri also serves exciting millet dishes. Chef Vikas Anand, sous chef curated this interesting healthy laden menu. You can choose from dosa millet, idli millet, uttapam millet, and even wholemeal bread made from millet like rye. Since all of these dishes are steamed or baked, you can enjoy a hearty meal without worrying about calories. We had a lot of fun savoring these healthy delights. There was also khichdi made with jowar which was an interesting way to start the day.
Millets can also be used to cook something other than breakfast dishes, and the Ashok has a lot to offer in that department as well. You can also enjoy millet-based kheer for lunch and dinner. Plus, spread the word about the benefits of millet with Millet Snack Baskets that feature millet-based popcorn, cookies, chips, and ladoos.
